Rental Agreement

Jefferson agrees to provide locker service to applicant. Applicant agrees to pay Jefferson the full fee upon application.

Renter understands that he/she will not place any library materials in a locker that he/she has not properly checked out from the circulation desk. To do so would violate Thomas Jefferson University’s Code of Conduct (Policy 107.02) and provide an unfair advantage over other students. Renter also understands that he/she will not place any unlawful items or items which violate University policy, including but not limited to drugs, weapons, stolen property, hazardous materials, and other contraband.

The term of locker use begins when the locker is assigned to the student and is effective for a period no greater than four months.  Rental periods will vary each academic year. Students will be made aware of the rental period, including the expiration date at the time of application.

Students may have the option to renew their locker for another four month period if they notify the Office of Student Life & Engagement prior to their applicable expiration date and pay the locker rental fee in effect at the time of the extension.  Locker renewals are not guaranteed and will be governed by the most current locker policy in effect at the time renewals is sought.

If the student does not check out of their locker, nor take action to renew their locker term, the Office of Student Life & Engagement will reclaim the locker at the end of the current rental period and any remaining items will be disposed of.  Should the student cease to be enrolled at Thomas Jefferson University, at any point, the locker will immediately revert back to the Office of Student Life & Engagement and any items in the locker will be disposed of. A hold will be placed on the student’s account with the Registrar's Office is s/he fails to vacate the locker at the conclusion of the rental period. There will be a one-week grace period at the end of each rental period before the locker is emptied and account placed on hold.

The provided combination or key locks must remain on the lockers at all times. The Office of Student Life & Engagement is not responsible for items stored in lockers, but does reserve the right to enter the locker with advance notice to the student. Students are NOT permitted to change the locks used on their locker for any reason without prior written approval from the Office of Student Life & Engagement. A fee of $25.00 will be charged for lost key/lock or use of personal lock.
