The Bruce & The Fenderbenders Irish Jig Band is composed of students and faculty at Thomas Jefferson University who enjoy playing Irish-American folk music. Founded in 2010 by Dr. Aivi Nguyen (Class of 2014), the band features fiddles, flutes, cellos and guitars. The band has performed for many events on campus, including Dean's concert, Martin Luther King Day, Second Look Reception, Relay-for-Life, and Holidays Around the World.   Purpose: To provide an opportunity for Jefferson students and faculty to learn and play Irish-American folk music and perform at various university and charitable events.  Membership Requirements: Members must be able to play instruments that contribute to the Irish-American folk music repertoire (e.g., violins, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, drum). Members must perform with the group at least once per academic year.  Goals: To rehearse as a group once per month, and to perform as a group at least four times per year at events chosen by the group.
