Our weekly industry speaker series hosts thought leaders at the forefront of merchandising, buying, retail operations, digital merchandising, trend forecasting, product development, sourcing, production, design and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). We integrate critical concepts of DEI to shape course discussions, create projects and institute topics aligned with the broader curriculum in fashion merchandising, business and general education courses.

On a trip to New York City, Fashion Merchandising & Management students attended fashion week shows featuring five international brands, visited luxury retail stores to study brand presentation, and explored a street-style car show pop-up in SoHo. They networked with professionals and gained career insights.
In Jefferson's BS in Fashion Merchandising & Management program, students learn how to bring products from concept to consumer. Monty Taylor demonstrated that process firsthand by designing a Jefferson varsity jacket that became a campus favorite and sold out within days of its Homecoming debut.
Melasia Pinder ’20, a Fashion Merchandising & Management graduate, founded Almost Famous Events Collective to create opportunities for Philadelphia's independent artists and designers. What began as a pop-up concept has grown into a thriving platform featuring retail activations, an annual fashion show, and multidisciplinary arts events.
