Combined Fellowship Training Program in Hematology & Medical Oncology

Our program is a combined effort of the department of Medical Oncology at the Kimmel Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson University and the Division of Hematology (Cardeza Foundation for Hematologic Research) in the Department of Medicine. Fellows complete three years of training in clinical medicine and research, which may be clinical or basic science, during their time at Jefferson. They care for patients with a wide range of disorders, including benign and malignant diseases. Educational experiences include both inpatient and outpatient medicine, basic science, and clinical research options.

Weekly conferences include journal clubs, hematology Grand Rounds, Kimmel Cancer Center Grand Rounds, Clinico-pathologic Conference (a.k.a. Slide Conference), Tumor Boards, Morbidity and Mortality Conference and Medicine Grand Rounds, in addition to several multidisciplinary oncology conferences.

Clinical experiences include those at the main campus in Center City, Philadelphia, along with several options for experiences in the community oncology setting.
