PHILADELPHIA, PA, September 1, 2026 – Jefferson Health's Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center was the first health system in the region to offer patients access to daraxonrasib through the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Expanded Access Program (EAP), providing eligible patients with access to the investigational therapy prior to its FDA approval.
Jefferson activated participation in the Expanded Access Program in just 14 days, reflecting the organization's commitment to making innovative therapies available to patients with serious and life-threatening conditions as quickly and safely as possible.
The Expanded Access Program launched at Jefferson on June 17, 2026, and provided access to daraxonrasib, an oral therapy for patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer who met the program's eligibility criteria. Eligible participants included adults age 18 and older who had metastatic pancreatic cancer and had previously received one line of treatment with either a 5-fluorouracil-based or gemcitabine-based regimen. The Expanded Access Program closed to enrollment on August 26, 2026, following FDA approval of daraxonrasib.

Metastatic pancreatic cancer remains one of the most challenging cancers to treat, with limited therapeutic advances over the past two decades. Jefferson's participation in the Expanded Access Program helped ensure that eligible patients could access this promising treatment prior to approval. In addition to offering innovative therapies, Jefferson Health's Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center continues to advance cancer research through preclinical studies focused on identifying future therapeutic targets and maintains multiple Phase II and later-stage clinical trials for patients across the region.
