Jefferson's Diagnostic Radiology Residency provides residents with comprehensive educational resources, professional development support, and employee benefits throughout training.

Educational Resources

Residents have access to a broad range of educational resources designed to support daily learning, preparation for the American Board of Radiology examinations, and continued professional development.

• Complimentary access to RADPrimer, CaseStacks, and e-Anatomy.
• An annual educational reimbursement benefit of up to $1000 per academic year, increasing to $1200 beginning July 1, 2027. Eligible expenses include textbooks, board preparation materials, question banks, educational software and subscriptions, clinical reference tools, online learning platforms, and qualifying educational technology.
• Five dedicated hours of resident conferences each week
• Access to the Department of Radiology Library and Jefferson's extensive electronic medical library resources
• Access to a digital library of recorded resident didactic lectures for review at any time

Conference Support

Residents attend the four-week American Institute for Radiologic Pathology (AIRP) course during residency. AIRP tuition is paid for by the Department of Radiology with housing reimbursement of up to $1500.

Residents presenting qualifying scholarly work at regional or national meetings may receive up to $1500 per year for conference registration, travel, lodging, and related expenses. Additional support of up to $1000 may be available for qualifying participation as a committee member, chair, or as a competitor at professional or scientific society meetings.

Time Off & Resident Benefits

Residents receive a comprehensive benefits package through Jefferson, including:

• 20 days of paid time off (PTO) each academic year

Senior Year Flexibility

The fourth year is designed to provide substantial flexibility for residents to pursue their individual career goals.

Residents have approximately 28 weeks of elective time during their R4 year and may participate in Senior Specialization, which allows residents to focus their clinical rotations and research in a subspecialty area in a manner like fellowship-level training.

This flexibility allows residents to tailor their final year toward fellowship preparation, general radiology practice, research, or other areas in which they would like additional experience.
