Emphasizing the role of design as a vital cultural, social, economic, political and environmental force in society, you will learn to make and think critically in order to identify and solve a wide variety of modern problems. Every student in the program learns the foundations of visual aesthetics, design research, the creative process and a variety of tools and technology. Students can extend this core knowledge to either the Graphic Design Communication or Web Design & Development specialization in order to find their unique place within the ever-changing and expanding design profession.
And when you’re done, you’ll graduate with the skills, knowledge and industry networks to bring value-added innovation to the design community.

What Students Say
“I never thought, ‘Oh, graphic design—I’m going to change people’s lives.’ But the program completely shifted my perspective. It changed how I see the world. Jefferson taught me to speak up when something needs to change and to ask questions when I need answers. I feel more confident—not just as a designer, but as a leader. The experience made me more empathetic, more human-centered, and deeply invested in collaboration and people. Now, I know that through design, I’m changing lives every day.”
