Built upon a strong tradition of forward-thinking design education, Thomas Jefferson University continues our legacy as a globally recognized leader in design with our innovative, immersive graduate design programs.

Our programs:

MS in Industrial Design

The MS in Industrial Design is a professional program based on interdisciplinary project work. In this program, you will learn to design effectively at the collaborative and chaotic “front end” of the product-development process. You will work with product users, researchers, businesspeople, engineers and manufacturers to create products and systems that are better at serving their users, societies and the world at large.

MS in International Fashion Design Management

The groundbreaking international MS in International Fashion Design Management program, featuring collaborations with several international fashion design programs and influencers, is uniquely focused on developing fashion design leaders of tomorrow. By moving beyond the hand-crafted approach to fashion, you will have the opportunity to focus on design as a strategic function, integrated along the cycle of research and design, product development, branding and distribution.

MS in Health Communication Design

The MS Health Communication Design is for visionary individuals driven by a passion to address critical and complex health communication design issues for people, communities, healthcare providers and policymakers. Through a series of themed, stackable certificates, delivered in a low-residency model, the MS in Health Communication Design equips students with theory and practice-based design skills to create health-related change that improves the human condition.

MS in Textile Design

The MS in Textile Design offers an integrated, collaborative and proven curriculum that blends aesthetic, creative skills with emerging technologies. In studios and classrooms housed in the Fashion and Textiles Futures Center, students turn innovative ideas into original products. State-of-the-art facilities, including The Center of Excellence in Digital Printing, electronic jacquard and dobby looms, computerized knitting machines, and extensive computer-aided design laboratories enable students to put professional skills into practice.

MS in Textile Technology

The MS in Textile Technology offers an integrated and collaborative curriculum that blends theoretical knowledge with experiential laboratory experiences. The program teaches cutting-edge technical textile processes to students interested in learning more about the science and technical based aspects of textiles. In many courses, students turn innovative ideas into original products. It is expected that graduates of the program will pursue careers in production, product evaluation, research and development, or management in the textile and apparel related fields.

MS in User Experience and Interaction

The MS in User Experience and Interaction is designed to prepare working professionals and recent college graduates to expand their careers into the rapidly moving fields of User Experience Design (UX) and Interaction Design (IxD). The role of User Experience (UX) and Interaction Design (IxD) expands as digital technology allows for more and more innovative applications. We must create aesthetic, engaging and dynamic experiences for users to interact with in order to take full advantage of current and future technologies, and immerse users in media.
