The programs within the Department of Occupational Therapy provide an array of educational experiences that lead to successful careers. At Jefferson, we offer two dynamic pathways to entry-level practice in Occupational Therapy:
- Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT)
- Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD)

Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT)
The Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) Program at Jefferson is a full-time two-year (plus one semester) graduate program on our East Falls campus. The program is offered in a hybrid learning format. Students engage in on-campus classes on Fridays & Saturdays, 7 to 8 times each semester. In Year 2, the on-campus schedule changes to Thursday, Friday and Saturday during the Summer 1 semester. Between the intensive on campus sessions, students participate in online learning activities. In the final two semesters, students complete two 12-week full-time fieldwork rotations. This flexible program is designed for students who want to work part-time and/or have other life responsibilities.
Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD)
The Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) Program at Jefferson is a full-time three-year graduate program on our Center City campus with on-campus classes Monday to Friday. In the second year, students complete two 12-week full-time fieldwork rotations. The Doctoral Capstone (Year 3) is designed to develop occupational therapists with in-depth knowledge of one or more of the following: clinical skills, research skills, administration, program development and evaluation, policy development, advocacy, education, and leadership.
