The programs within the Department of Occupational Therapy provide an array of educational experiences that lead to successful careers. Students get involved in community-based initiatives and service-learning projects that connect theory with practice, making a positive impact on local populations.
Master of Science in Occupational Therapy
The Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at Jefferson is a full-time two-year (plus one semester) graduate program on our East Falls campus. The program is offered in a hybrid blended learning format. Students engage in on-campus class meetings on weekends (Friday & Saturday), 8 to 9 times a year, depending on the semester. Between the intensive on campus sessions, students complete online learning activities. This flexible program is designed for students who want to work part-time and/or have other life responsibilities.
Doctorate in Occupational Therapy
The Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at Jefferson is a full-time three-year graduate program on our Center City campus with on-campus classes Monday to Friday. The program prepares students to enter the field of occupational therapy at the doctoral level. The Doctoral Capstone experience and project (Year 3) is designed to develop occupational therapists with in-depth knowledge and skill in one or more of the following areas: clinical practice, administration, leadership, research, program and policy development, advocacy, education and theory.
