Career opportunities for pharmacists continue to expand with exciting and rewarding roles in patient care, community and population health, innovation and research. The Jefferson College of Pharmacy ensures that our student pharmacists are ready to optimize medication therapy for all patients and to design and implement innovative strategies to improve health disparities and access to care. Our expansive network of pharmacy practice sites coupled with our experienced and dedicated faculty provide unparalleled opportunities for our students to optimize their career pathways.

Our Master of Science in Population Health Pharmacy prepares practicing pharmacists to take the step towards assuming leadership roles in designing, implementing and evaluating programs and interventions to improve the health and wellness of high-risk individuals through optimization of medication therapy.

The new Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences enables students with an undergraduate background in the life sciences such as biology, chemistry or biochemistry to prepare for careers in drug design and development in pharmaceutical industry, academic research laboratories and related fields. Throughout the program, students work side-by-side our faculty in our research laboratories and contribute to our ongoing research in all aspects of drug development and evaluation.

About Our Degrees

  • Doctor of Pharmacy

    This program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education. Throughout the innovative curriculum, faculty incorporate team-based active learning, simulated patient-care experiences and other strategies to facilitate the continued development and application of critical thinking and clinical skills.
  • Master of Science in Population Health Pharmacy

    This program is designed to give practicing pharmacists expertise in population health pharmacy by leveraging pharmacy-specific knowledge with population health principles. Graduates will be poised to meet the needs of the current resource-limited, fragmented US health care system and expand the role of pharmacy in all practice settings.
  • Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences

    This program is designed to provide students with expertise in designing and applying research methodologies to meet the needs of the evolving biomedical and pharmaceutical industries and academic laboratories. The curriculum provides instruction in all phases of the drug and biologic development process; including preclinical drug discovery and development, analytical support for clinical trials, metabolite analysis and much more.
