A Philadelphia native, Donna attended Bucknell University for undergrad where she majored in Biology. After graduation she began working at Jefferson as a research technician and while working, earned her Master's in Biomedical Chemistry. Subsequently she earned her PhD from Jefferson in Molecular Biology & Biochemistry studying the cross-talk between Hedgehog and Desmoglein-mediated signaling in skin cancer. She moved to Penn for her postdoctoral fellowship studying Wnt signaling and skin development and stem cell function. Donna now works away from the bench and focuses on research operations, administration, and trainee development as the Director of Operations for the Penn Skin Biology and Diseases Resource-based Center and Associate Director of Basic Research for the Department of Dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania.
