Oct 24, 2025

On October 23, 2025, more than 70 alumni, faculty, and friends gathered at the Hyatt Regency in Salt Lake City, Utah, for a special evening hosted by Alberto Esquenazi, MD, chief clinical officer of Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehabilitation and The John Otto Haas Chair of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), and Steve Williams, MD, dean of the College of Rehabilitation Sciences at Thomas Jefferson University and the Jesse B. Michie Professor and chair of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Sidney Kimmel Medical College.

Held during the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R) 2025 Annual Assembly, the reception celebrated the enduring impact of physiatrists trained at Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehabilitation – Elkins Park and Thomas Jefferson University. Attendees had the opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, build new relationships, and reflect on their shared commitment to advancing rehabilitation medicine through clinical care, research, education, and advocacy.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Dr. Thomas Strax Residency Research Award to Rosalie Ellis, DO, and Aslihan Sahin, DO, honoring their exceptional scholarship and dedication to the field.

The evening embodied the spirit of collaboration and community that defines both Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehabilitation – Elkins Park and Thomas Jefferson University, reinforcing their shared mission to advance rehabilitation medicine and enhance patient outcomes through innovation, education, and compassionate care.
