The Department of Medical Imaging & Radiation Sciences Celebrates Programmatic Accreditation

The Department has completed multiple self-studies and on-site programmatic accreditation visits in the last year.

The General, Vascular and Cardiac Sonography Programs each received a full, ten-year, continuation of accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRCDMS).

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Medical Dosimetry, Radiation Therapy and Radiography Programs each received full, eight-year, continuation of accreditation from the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

The Medical Physics Program received initial accrediation from the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs, Inc. (CAMPEP).

The Nuclear Medicine Program completed the on-site visit and awaits the results from the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT).

The Department is proud of its faculty, staff, administrators, and students for the achievement of programmatic accreditation as it is one more way we demonstrate the quality of education offered by Thomas Jefferson University.
