The Office of the Provost, responsible for programming and policy implementation, support programs for personnel and students, and academic fiscal management, is central to Jefferson’s multifaceted mission.
The office focuses on the operation and overall performance of Jefferson’s academic programs, the management of our research, and the coordination of our affiliated institutions and partnerships that will continue to transform the way we deliver interprofessional education.

Zoher F. Kapasi, PhD, PT, Named Provost of Thomas Jefferson University
Effective November 1, 2026 - Dr. Kapasi brings extensive experience in higher education leadership, academic administration, and professional health sciences education and most recently served as Dean of the College of Health Professions at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

What began as Jefferson Medical College in 1824, with our commitment to education, discovery, innovation and compassionate patient care, has grown exponentially with Sidney Kimmel Medical College, and our ten other colleges, schools and institutes – making us one of the nation's leading learning institutions.
