Biography

Kevin Hinkle is adjunct faculty in the Emergency and Disaster Management Program at Thomas Jefferson University- East Falls. He is a Registered Nurse and has been actively involved in emergency services and management since 1971, beginning his career as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician in Pennsylvania and advancing on, working in trauma centers and pre-hospital care. Over his career, Kevin has taught at the community college and university level in Paramedic courses, EMT, allied health and various certification courses.

Kevin has retired after 30 years on active-duty Air Force and Air National Guard service at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, last serving as Chief, Medical Support for the 193rd Special Operations Medical Group, 193rd Special Operations Wing. He had supervisory responsibility for Aerospace Medicine, Public Health, Deployment Medicine and liaison to the Air Force Special Operations Command’s Surgeons Office for Global Health Engagements. Additionally, he served as the Pennsylvania National Guard representative to the PA state-wide pandemic planning process, strategic plan development and tabletop exercises with local government, non-government and civic leaders.

Kevin is a graduate of Saint Joseph Hospital School of Nursing and Albright College, both in Reading, PA. He has a Master of Science in Disaster Medicine and Management from Philadelphia University. Kevin retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs in 2022 and continues to serve as the Emergency Management Coordinator for Bern Township (Berks County), PA.
