Biography

Preston Dogan is an experienced improvement leader who has partnered with hospital executives to optimize both clinical and non-clinical processes. Over his career he has consulted healthcare systems on how to strategize, innovate and operationalize data driven improvements. His strategic leadership has led to transformational improvements such as increased lives saved, reduction in events of harm, time given back to patient care, reduction in the cost of care and improved regulatory compliance.

Preston’s career started at the Rothman Institute as clinician, before becoming a practice manageer overseeing multiple clinical sites. Preston transitioned to  Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s (CHOP) in the role of Cinical Improvement Advisor, where he partnered with the Oncology division, helping them scope and operationalize their quality improvement portfolio. Preston went onto become a Continuous Improvement Consultant at Nemours Children’s Hospital, where his primary focus was assisting clinical leaders in establishing an enterprise-wide standard work program with the goal of implementing  best practices for chronic diseases management. 

Preston currently works as a Corporate Director of Performance Improvement at Community Health System (CHS),  where he oversees performance improvement for clinical operations.  CHS is one of the nation’s leading healthcare providers, encompassing 72 hospitals with more than 10,000 beds and approximately 1,000 other sites of care, including physician practices, urgent care centers, freestanding emergency departments, imaging centers, cancer centers, and ambulatory surgery centers.

Preston is a graduate of Wilmington University where he received his Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration. He completed his undergraduate course work at Neumann University where he majored in Athletic Training. He has completed graduate course work at Temple University, Arizona State University, and Pepperdine University .
