Dr. Johnson, who holds dual degrees in medicine and molecular genetics, focuses her research on the tumor microenvironment in head and neck cancers, particularly its metabolic and immunologic aspects. She collaborates with researchers at Jefferson to develop clinical trials targeting interactions between cancer cells and surrounding tissue. As Co-Director of the Precision Medicine Initiative at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, she leads efforts to match patients to molecularly guided clinical trials and established a system-wide Molecular Tumor Board to support collaborative case discussions across Jefferson hospitals.
