After completing a dedicated year of training in heart valve disease at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard School of Medicine, Dr. Witzke focused his practice in the diagnosis and treatment of patient with Valvular and Structural Heart Disease. He is proficient in invasive procedures to treat aortic and mitral stenosis as well as mitral and tricuspid valve regurgitation. Other areas of interest include complex coronary artery disease and complex coronary artery revascularization.
He is actively involved in research addressing the progression of aortic valve disease and mechanism of failure in patients undergoing endovascular treatment of mitral regurgitation. He is also involved the understanding the physiopathology and clinical implications of hemodialysis patients with concomitant pulmonary hypertension.
