Dr. Menon is the Director of Clinical Research in the Division of Hematology and a faculty member in the Department of Medicine at Sidney Kimmel Medical College. He oversees the division's clinical research studies focused on advancing initiatives to improve care for individuals living with sickle cell disease (SCD). In addition, his work focuses on expanding access to high-quality, coordinated SCD care, increasing the number of clinicians knowledgeable about SCD, and strengthening partnerships with community-based organizations. Dr. Menon holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences and has expertise in program evaluation, data management, multicenter clinical research, implementation science, data analytics, and biostatistics. He also brings extensive basic and translational research experience, with prior work spanning cardiovascular biology, developmental biology, aging, cellular senescence, and neurodegenerative diseases. Working closely with division leadership and principal investigators, Dr. Menon provides operational leadership for research and programmatic initiatives to support successful implementation, regulatory compliance, and achievement of project goals. His collaborative approach strengthens research infrastructure and expands opportunities for innovative patient-centered research. Dr. Menon has extensive experience leading large, complex, multi-site research initiatives with expertise in study design, grant development, management of collaborative research networks, data analysis, and scientific dissemination.
