Emily Shown has been with Thomas Jefferson University since 2022. In her role, she enjoys supporting, advocating, and empowering students as they pursue their academic and professional goals.

Before joining Jefferson, Emily worked with Study Group which is an international recruitment and pathway provider that partners with universities throughout the United States.

Emily recommends that students visit the Sidney & Ethal Lubert Plaza just behind the Scott Memorial Library in Center City — a lush green area perfect for a relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of the city, for students and professionals alike. Her favorite place in Philly is Harriett’s Bookshop in Fishtown because it celebrates women authors, women artists, and women activists while providing a beautiful space that encourages exploration and reflection.
