Meet Our Student: Henry Snyder

Henry is pursuing an MS in Real Estate Development at Jefferson.

Why did you choose Jefferson?

I had just moved to Philadelphia and had been working as a Planner in New Jersey for the past year. I wanted to learn more about the private side of development to become more well-rounded in the field. Jefferson offered an extraordinary opportunity to learn the logistics of real estate development, and it has introduced me to countless knowledgeable experts along the way.

Where are you from originally?

I’m from Cohasset, Massachusetts.

What is the best part of your studies?

Meeting and learning from my classmates, professors, and the many industry experts who have come to speak to our class has been the highlight of the program. We have been introduced to countless professionals who all have different backgrounds and bring their own unique perspectives.

What’s something people would be surprised to find out about you?

I’m currently exploring the process of becoming a dual citizen in New Zealand.

Tell us about a project you’re working on.

Over the past year, I’ve been working with municipalities across New Jersey to help them draft and adopt Redevelopment Plans for specific sites. The goal is to ensure these communities can meet their state-mandated 4th Round Affordable Housing requirements — laying the groundwork for a variety of affordable housing types to be developed.
