We are pleased to announce the appointment of Edouard J. Trabulsi, MD, MBA, FACS, as Chair of the Department of Urology at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and System Leader for Urology at Jefferson Health. Dr. Trabulsi, who has served as Chair of the Department of Urology of Jefferson Einstein Hospital Philadelphia, will assume the role effective October 1, 2026.
A nationally recognized urologic oncologist, physician-leader and educator, Dr. Trabulsi specializes in all aspects of urologic oncology and robotic surgery, including prostate cancer, bladder cancer, kidney cancer and testicular cancer. He serves as the Genitourinary Cancer Multidisciplinary Group Team Leader for clinical trials at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center of Thomas Jefferson University and is a grant reviewer for both the NIH and the DOD.
His national leadership includes service on several committees of the American Urological Association, including the Education Council, the Resident Core Curriculum Committee and the Legislative Affairs Committee. He is a former President of the Mid-Atlantic Section of the AUA and has served on the Board of Directors for the Society of Urologic Oncology. He previously served as Cancer Liaison Physician for Thomas Jefferson University Hospital with the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, and is a member of the American Urological Association, the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Society of Urologic Oncology, the American Medical Association, the American Association for Cancer Research and the American College of Health Care Executives.
A graduate of the University of Rochester, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry cum laude with Distinction in Research, Dr. Trabulsi completed his medical degree magna cum laude at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He completed his surgery internship, surgery residency and urology residency at Thomas Jefferson University, followed by fellowship training in urologic oncology and minimally invasive urologic oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. His research interests include advanced imaging for prostate, bladder and kidney cancer, including enhanced ultrasound and novel PET imaging, as well as biomarker development for the early detection of prostate cancer.
