Board Eligible in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine (2024)
My primary area of clinical activity is in the diagnosis, evaluation and advancement of the management of pulmonary hypertension, a blood vessel disorder of the lungs which leads to right-sided heart failure and multi-system organ failure. During my fellowship, I was awarded an F32 mentored grant to study the role of mitochondrial dysfunction in endothelial cells in the pathogenesis of pulmonary hypertension. In my time on faculty at Jefferson, I will focus on caring for patients with pulmonary hypertension and participation in clinical trials. I also have an active interest in interstitial lung disease, a spectrum of lung disorders often associated with inflammatory diseases and environmental exposures. Finally, on the inpatient side of clinical medicine, I am passionate about critical care and respiratory failure – particularly in the mitigation of ventilator-induced lung injury, teaching ventilator physiology to trainees and, most importantly, compassionate care of the ICU patient and family.
