What is it like to study Textile Design? Would you like to go on a tour? As luck would have it, that's what we have to show you here. As long-time individual members of the Handweavers Guild of America, we were honored to be asked to host a tour of our Textile Design studios for a live audience. HGA is an international member association dedicated to textile crafts and fiber arts through education and a steadfast commitment to the preservation of textile traditions.
We jumped at the chance to show off our dynamic and colorful spaces and to show the outstanding work of our students. Of our excellent student body, we were able to highlight the work of Kara Beckner, Tina Kreibich, and Sinéad Cahill. Along with the tour, part of our faculty team sat for a Q&A with an engaged audience of almost 90 guests. They had excellent questions for us! Whitney Young, program director for HGA, had this to say,
