Podcast: A Conversation With the Rams Men’s and Women’s Soccer Coaches

As the season begins, the new heads of Jefferson’s teams talk about building on past successes to create a championship future.

Coaches Michelle Jacquette and Jason Rocha join the Thomas Jefferson University News Podcast to discuss their outlooks for the upcoming season.

Accompanying the start of the 2025-26 academic year at Thomas Jefferson University is the start of student-athletes on our fall sports teams launching their quest for greatness. Sure, there are a lot of new faces on campus, as is the case every year, but both the men's and women's Rams soccer teams are also establishing new paths forward.

While men's coach Jason Rocha was both a player and assistant coach here, this marks his second year at the helm of a program, which saw his predecessor set the all-time program record for career wins. On the women's side, Michelle Jacquette is entering her first year as coach of a team fresh off its best-ever campaign in program history.

In this episode of the Thomas Jefferson University News Podcast, we sat down with both coaches to discuss, among many things, how they're acclimating to their new roles, their outlooks for the upcoming season, the state of the sport in the region, their desire to forge relationships with people and soccer programs in the community and, of course, the Jefferson community heading over to the Ravenhill campus to watch their home matches.
