Podcast: Jefferson Celebrates National Nurses Week

From the College of Health Professions’ Intro to Nursing Course to the new Nurse Leader Accelerator initiative, hear how the University guides and nurtures caregivers through their careers.

With National Nurses Week upon us from May 6 to 12, it’s a ceremonial time to recognize the amazing things these professionals bring to the healing world.

This episode of the Thomas Jefferson University News Podcast shares a story that starts with students interested in learning more about the profession and culminates with a look at a new initiative designed to further the education of those already in the field.

We start with the College of Health Professions’ Introduction to Nursing course, which serves as a launching pad for those interested in learning more about the profession. As you will hear from students, the messages build quite a foundation.

From there, they can enter a rewarding field where a lifelong learning mindset has recently been bolstered by the formation of a Nurse Leader Accelerator initiative. With guidance from College of Nursing Dean Dr. Marie Ann Marino, Connelly Foundation Chief Nurse Executive Officer Dr. Kate FitzPatrick, and Senior Vice President/Chief Nursing Executive Annmarie Chavarria, Jefferson provides a unique educational experience to advance their roles in the professional world.

While millions of stories exist from within the nursing world, consider this one bookended from the start of some would-be nurses’ journey to the heights they can achieve in the field.
