Message from the Dean

At Jefferson we seek to be responsive to the changing needs of the healthcare system. The departments in the Jefferson School of Health Professions (JSHP) continually develop curricular changes aimed at preparing you to function as an outstanding health professional in the dynamic environment of health care.

As an integral part of a major academic health center, JSHP affords our students the opportunity to interact with other students in a wide range of health professions. Our training opportunities mirror changes in today’s healthcare environment emphasizing interprofessional healthcare practice. This allows us to develop professionals who work together, understand one another’s contributions and effectively communicate in order to provide the best possible care for patients.

In addition to the interprofessional perspective, each program’s curriculum is based on a set of core competencies that your faculty and future employers believe are essential to effective practice. Our highly recognized faculty has developed learning and training experiences to insure that you have the knowledge, skills and experiences to prepare you to be an evidence-based practitioner.

Our graduates find that their Jefferson degree opens exceptional access to employment in the healthcare system, as evidenced by their success rates on required licensure and registry examinations (consistently above the national average) and our high employment placement rates.

We expect that you will leave Jefferson School of Health Professions a proud and confident graduate who will bring credit to your profession and your alma mater.
