Expertise and Research Interests

Lara Carson Weinstein, MD, MPH is a family doctor and public health researcher, with 20 years of community-based clinical experience working with populations with experiences of homelessness, mental illness, and chronic physical disease in Philadelphia. She has implemented programs of system innovation in integrated health care and community based research on topics such as health care decision-making, self-management support, and cancer control and prevention in people with experience of serious mental illness living in supportive hosing settings. Her work is done in collaboration with 2 nationally recognized community organizations in Philadelphia, Project HOME and Pathways to Housing PA, that provide permanent supported housing for people with experiences of homelessness and serious mental illness.
