3rd Annual 2026 Jefferson Center for MATER Conference

Voiced of Recovery:
Creating Through the Journey

Jefferson Alumni Hall Atrium | 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.

We will be highlighting creativity, art, and expressions as part of recovery from substance use disorders. There will be presentations and panel discussions from invited and submitted individuals/groups.

All are welcome to attend this free event. This includes faculty, staff, students, researchers, clinicians, and public health professionals from around the region, local government employees, individuals on their recovery journey, and others interested in supporting families affected by substance use disorders. Information on registration and a call for presentations will be coming soon. 

MATER Community Advisory Board

Do we want to add in something like “Interested in learning more about the MATER CAB? Come check us out at AATOD 2025 Conference here in Philadelphia on Saturday, October 4th where the CAB will be leading a pre-conference workshop on how to integrate the community’s voice into substance use clinical programming.”  

Jefferson College of Nursing and MATER Receive a Grant from SAMHSA

Jefferson College of Nursing and MATER recently received a $900,000 grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The SAMHSA Grant Faculty team includes: Steve DiDonato (PI), Dennis Hand, Meghan Gannon, Kimberly McLaughlin, Jennie Ryan, Jennifer Bellot and Nicole Leighton!

MATER Center’s First Annual Conference: “Community Roots of Recovery”

MATER held it's first annual conference on April 25th, 2024 at Jefferson Alumni Hall Atrium. It was the morning of community, education, and support for pregnant and parenting people with opioid use disorder and their service providers.
