All prerequisites need not be completed before you apply, but the majority should be completed before an admissions decision can be made. All prerequisites must be completed before you enter the program. 

GPA: 3.0 overall GPA recommended; 3.0 science GPA recommended
Test scores: MCAT and GRE are not required

In addition to the following prerequisites, students must complete their bachelor's degree program before the start date of the PA program.

* Minimum of two courses with laboratory components are required

A minimum grade of "B" in all prerequisite courses is highly recommended to be competitive.

Additional recommended coursework: medical terminology, genetics, biochemistry, organic chemistry and physics.

Direct patient care experience, PA or other healthcare shadowing, and a commitment to community service is strongly recommended and makes your application more complete. Research and leadership experience also recommended.

Course Clarification: All science courses must be completed within 10 years of application to Jefferson. Courses must be completed with a grade of “C-” or above to be eligible for transfer. A grade of “D“ or below will not be eligible for transfer. A grade of “B” is recommended to be considered competitive.
