Surgical Research

Centers & Programs

We currently have two centers dedicated to research. Other initiatives are in various stages of development.

Jefferson Center for Injury Research & Prevention (JCIRP)

Our Center fosters interdisciplinary collaboration that crosses global campuses and community borders ultimately to save lives and reduce disability. Our injury science experts devote themselves to conducting research, providing education, engaging social entrepreneurship and partnering with communities in the Delaware Valley and beyond.

Jefferson Molecular Profiling of Pancreatic Cancer (JMP PaC) Program

While we have the infrastructure to carry out molecular profiling, a barrier at this time is that insurance covers this panel of testing only for some patients based on diagnosis and prognosis (typically those with advanced-stage disease). The goal of our research program is to make comprehensive molecular profiling accessible and possible for all pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) patients that come to Jefferson for pancreatic cancer surgery.
