Why Choose Jefferson

There are many reasons to choose Jefferson's ( Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) P4 for your post-baccalaureate education.

Jefferson is a leading, internationally-recognized academic medical center. Our students have the distinct advantage of starting their journey in the health professions with access to world-class facilities and mentoring by an innovative and dynamic community of professionals, educators and students.

P4 at Jefferson helps students complete requirements for medical/professional school, and also helps to build a competitive educational and professional foundation for the next steps in the students’ academic careers.

Preparation begins with our focused curriculum, designed to provide students with a quality education from expert faculty—helping them fulfill academic requirements for medical/professional schools. It continues throughout students’ time in P4 with specific exam preparation courses and a comprehensive review at the end of program course work.

We provide small class sizes, with lectures and laboratory sections containing a maximum number of 60 and 30 students, respectively. One of the major goals for P4 is to provide a sense of community among our students—building a cohort that will maintain a strong network well beyond the length of the Program.

We offer career and educational development workshops and clinical networking opportunities through our Art & Science of Healthcare course.

We provide our students with close support for medical/professional school admissions, including application guidance and preparation for the interview process.

Once admitted to our program, you become part of the Jefferson community—with access to the many facilities available to all students, such as:

  • Wellness programs
  • On-campus housing
  • A variety of student activities and organizations

Jefferson’s location in downtown Philadelphia is within walking distance of fantastic restaurants, shopping, entertainment and cultural attractions.
