Meet our Student: Elena Nestico

Elena Nestico is a MS in Interior Architecture student and recently received honorable mention in the Design with Light competition.

What are you studying at Jefferson?

I’m working towards my Masters in Interior Architecture.

Why did you choose Jefferson?

I was initially interested in the Sustainable Design program but after more information decided to go the route of Interior Architecture as I wanted to do more than consult. I have BFA in painting and printmaking from Maryland Institute College of Art, so having control over aesthetic choices is also very important to me.

Where are you from originally?

Connecticut.

What is the best part of your studies?

Learning about design technology and progressive design ideas being used to tackle global issues like sustainability and social diversity.

What’s something people would be surprised to find out about you?

I have a large collection of drum machines and synthesizers and use them to make electronic music. I also occasionally DJ.
