Jefferson College of Nursing presents Nurse’s Week/Florence Nightingale's 200th Birthday Celebration

The World Health Organization has dedicated 2020 to the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife.  The Jefferson College Nursing (JCN) will be celebrating this designation throughout the year. During Nurse's Week, on May 12th, 2020 (Florence Nightingale's 200th birthday), we will be screening the movie 5B.  5B is a Johnson and Johnson-commissioned documentary that tells the story of nurses who took extraordinary action to comfort, protect and care for the patients of the first AIDS unit in the United States. The film, released in 2019, won the Entertainment Lions Grand Prix award at the Cannes Film Festival this past year.

Brendan Gaul, the film's producer and Global Chief Content Officer for Universal McCann, one of the largest ad agencies in the world, will be joining us that day for a panel presentation after the film's screening.  Also joining him will be one of the film's featured nurses and Lynda BentonJohnson and Johnson's Senior Director of Corporate Equity and principle behind its nursing campaign. This promises to be an amazing day for nursing Jefferson.
