Program Overview
The Post-graduate Academic Nursing Certificate Program is designed for nurses with a master’s or doctoral degree seeking faculty positions in entry-level or graduate nursing education programs to teach in the classroom, clinical environment or online. Courses focus on contemporary curriculum design, instructional methodologies, student assessment, and program evaluation methods. Completion of two preceptor-facilitated practicums provides students the opportunity to transfer knowledge to the actual academic environment.
This flexible, highly interactive, online, asynchronous program awards a post-graduate certificate after completion of 9 credits. Graduates are eligible to sit for the National League of Nursing (NLN) Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) examination. NLN - CNE designation indicates exceptional proficiencies in the field of nursing education.
