STEM Summer Camp Experience 2025
Are you interested in discovering how things work and contributing to building a better world? Do you know that engineers use math, science, and engineering principles every day to improve lives?
This year's three-week STEM Summer Camp Experience 2025 program is free and available for students between 6th and 9th grade. The program starts on July 28th and runs until August 14th, Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Additional eligibility information, including the application form and letter of recommendation, is available below.
Program Description
The STEM Summer Camp Experience 2025 exposes students through hands-on experiments to how engineers apply math, science, and engineering principles to improve people’s lives. This summer day camp, taking place over 3-weeks at Jefferson’s East Falls Campus, is for 6th-9th grade students in the Greater Philadelphia Area.
Students will be introduced to emerging technologies in data analytics, 3D-printing, logical programming, and logistics through hands-on experiments. Using projects that are appealing to their interest, the campers will experience how engineering is applied in our everyday lives.
Some of the projects will include:
- Using data science to analyze the performance of your local sport teams: Philadelphia Eagles and the Phillies.
- Learning to design a piece to specifications using the special software Solid Works © and producing it using 3D printing.
- Performing a 10-week supply chain planning to procure, produce, and delivery a product and its sub-components.
- Learning to write a code to obtain the batting average of your favorite Phillies player, or to which Eagles’ player has more passing yards.
Cost and Eligibility
This program is free, and materials will be provided at camp. Because the camp has limited capacity, it is recommended that you submit the application as soon as possible. The program is directed by Dr. Fernando Tovia, Professor of Engineering. Please contact Fernando.Tovia@Jefferson.edu for further information.
Campers need to:
- Be going into 6th- 9th grade in the upcoming 2025-2026 school year
- Submit the application form
- Submit a letter of recommendation from a math or science teacher
