A Physician Assistant (PA) is a nationally-certified, state licensed healthcare provider who practices under the supervision of a physician. PAs provide a large range of medical and surgical services and can be found in almost every healthcare setting. Under physician supervision, PAs conduct physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, diagnose and treat illnesses, provide patient counseling, assist in the operating room and prescribe medications.
Students are awarded a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MS) degree upon successful completion of our Program.
This option is designed for students who have already completed a bachelor’s degree or who will be completing a bachelor’s degree before matriculation into the graduate physician assistant program. It is designed as a full-time 25-month course of study beginning in July of each year. This program awards an MS in Physician Assistant Studies at its conclusion.
East Falls & New Jersey Program Accreditation
The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the Thomas Jefferson University Physician Assistant Program; East Falls and New Jersey sponsored by Thomas Jefferson University. Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards.
Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be June 2028. The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy.
