Biography

Larry Magras, MD, MBA, is a physician leader, executive and consultant with 30 years of clinical, administrative and consulting experience developing and implementing operational, financial and member care strategies that improve patient care and clinical quality while positively impacting top and bottom-line revenue. Dr. Magras has deep managed care experience and since 2016 has served as Senior Vice President Population Health and Chief Medical Officer for Community Health Network of Connecticut, a statewide health plan and network of Federally Qualified Health Centers serving over 1,000,000 Medicaid and Dual Eligible beneficiaries across the state.

Previously, Dr. Magras served as a senior physician consultant for Huron, the national consulting firm, where he supported teams on clinical operations, strategy, and population health engagement. Magras developed an integrated care management and quality improvement program for an 11 hospital system in the Southeast with a flagship academic medical center to support development of a clinically integrated network and ACO; a care process improvement program for an academic medical center in the northeast that improved care coordination, case management, and patient scheduling and increased revenue by over $12 million annually; and a clinical operation improvement program for an academic medical center in the northeastern U.S.  that achieved a $10 million annual saving in length of stay and level of care improvements. His experience prior to Huron included serving as VP of Clinical Effectiveness, Care Coordination, and Physician Integration for Catholic Health Services of Long Island, and similar roles at the Hospital of Saint Raphael, in New Haven, now part of Yale New Haven Health, and University of Miami Hospital in Miami.
