Dr. Rino S. Seedor's clinical and research focus is on prevention and treatment of melanoma, both cutaneous and uveal. She is the principal investigator and co-investigator of many therapeutic clinical trials in melanoma at Jefferson, including an investigator-initiated trial of neoadjuvant tebentafusp in primary uveal melanoma. She received the Melanoma Research Institute of Excellence Pilot Award for her investigation of the geospatial distribution of uveal melanoma in the United States. She was also awarded pilot awards on her investigation of melanoma in HIV patients and older patients.
She works very closely with the ocular oncology team at Wills Eye Hospital and she is a member of the multidisciplinary team of medical oncologists, interventional radiologists, radiation oncologist and numerous other essential personnel at Jefferson that manages patients with uveal melanoma from all over the country. She also works very closely with the surgical oncologists and dermatologists at Jefferson to diagnose and manage patients with cutaneous melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers.
