Dr. Wen’s research focuses on the development, implementation, and evaluation of eHealth and mHealth interventions to improve cancer prevention, screening, treatment management, and survivorship care. Her work emphasizes scalable digital strategies that support toxicity and symptom assessment, medication adherence, and oncology workflow optimization, with the goal of driving sustainable system-level change.
At the community and population level, Dr. Wen develops and evaluates eHealth-enabled models to improve cancer screening, diagnostic follow-up, and care coordination, particularly in underserved and ethnically diverse populations. This work integrates community health workers (CHWs) with digital tools to address multilevel barriers and reduce disparities in access to evidence-based cancer care.
At the clinical and patient level, her research focuses on eHealth-supported treatment monitoring and symptom management, improving real-time clinical decision-making and care delivery efficiency across oncology settings.
Dr. Wen is also advancing a focused program in geriatric oncology, developing geriatric-specific interventions to improve treatment tolerance, functional outcomes, and coordination of care for older adults with cancer. This work incorporates lifestyle and integrative oncology approaches, including Tai Chi and other non-pharmacologic strategies, to support aging populations across the cancer care continuum.
