Residency

Facilities & resources available to residents include:

  • Computer Systems: Residents have access to computer systems throughout the University and Hospital. This includes access to email and on-campus internet access. Our electronic medical record system was recently upgraded to EPIC for both inpatient/outpatient medical records.  All of these systems are available remotely from home. The radiology program provides subscriptions to residents for RADPrimer and StatDx.
  • Parking/Transportation: The University has numerous discounted or free parking opportunities surrounding all affiliated hospitals. Trainees may also take advantage of discounted public transportation passes for SEPTA and PATCO buses and trains.  The University offers a "pre-tax" payroll deduction for these public transportation expenses.
  • Facilities: As University employees, residents have access to the University facilities (for a fee) such as daycare, gymnasium and pool facilities and discounts to local entertainment.
  • Lab Coats: All first year radiology residents receive two complimentary embroidered white lab coats.
  • Department of Radiology Library: The Department of Radiology Library contains 300 radiology textbooks and issues of 15 medical journals. There is also computer access to all major Radiology and other medical journals, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There is an extensive teaching file of over 1,600 representative radiographs with a written description of their radiographic findings and clinical presentations.
  • Scott Memorial Library: The Scott Memorial Library is located on campus ( on Walnut St., between 10th St. and 11th St.). It maintains a comprehensive general medical library of all major journals and textbooks including those for radiology.
