Preventative Care & Chronic Condition Management
- Physical exams and form completion (outside of services provided by JOHN)
- Management of chronic conditions in coordination with or referral to Jefferson Health specialists *
- Women’s health including cervical cancer screenings and birth control
- Long-acting reversal contraceptives including intrauterine devices (IUDs) *
- Sexual health and LGBTQIA+ inclusive care
- Weight concerns including eating disorders, weight loss, medical weight management, and nutrition
- Referrals for evidence-based lab testing and follow-up
Mental Health Care
- Student Health Services - Center City partners closely with Jefferson Student Counseling Center (SCC) – Center City to support students’ mental health. The SCC is available from 9 am-5 pm Monday – Friday and can be reached by calling 215-503-2817. Counseling services are provided free of charge to Center City students enrolled at the University.
- Student Health Services - Center City can provide ongoing medication management for some conditions (including anxiety and depression) after consultation with an SCC provider.
- Evaluation and referral for treatments of eating disorders and substance use disorders.
Travel Medicine Consultation
- CDC-recommended care for international travel including counseling, routine vaccinations, and medications including malaria prophylaxis.
- Certain vaccines (including Yellow Fever vaccines) cannot be provided at Student Health Services - Center City.
Telemedicine Services
Telemedicine visits can be scheduled if the student is in Pennsylvania at the time of the appointment. Unfortunately, telemedicine visits are not available for students in other states at this time.
Inpatient Care
Should any student require hospitalization, care will be coordinated with the Department of Family and Community Medicine’s inpatient team at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
* Jefferson Family Medicine providers/residents and other university partners outside of Student Health Services - Center City provide some services and specialty care.
