Thomas Jefferson University requires students to maintain active health insurance during their enrollment. To waive the student health insurance plan, students must maintain insurance that provides coverage for services in the Philadelphia area. Out-of-state Medicaid plans do not meet criteria to be waived.
All visits to Student Health Services - Center City will be billed to insurance, and students are responsible for their co-payments and co-insurance. We encourage all students to be aware of their health insurance policies and costs.
If you have an HMO or Medicaid plan and need to elect a new PCP while attending Jefferson, please select Kyle Bardet, MD, or Jefferson Family Medicine Associates through your insurance provider. Please do so prior to your first appointment to avoid delays.
If your insurance is not accepted at Jefferson Family Medicine Associates, you must arrange health care separate from Student Health Services - Center City.
Thomas Jefferson University offers a student health plan that is accepted by Student Health Services - Center City.
