Associated Program Costs - Center City Campus

Students enrolled in the Center City PA Program should expect to incur additional associated costs. These costs are estimated to be approximately $3,500, and include: purchase of short white coat, appropriate name tag, required medical equipment, required textbooks, and required immunizations and background checks for clinical rotations.

Please note that housing costs and transportation costs are not included in these associated costs. Students are responsible for having access to their own reliable transportation during the Clinical Phase of the program. The associated costs for transportation may include vehicle registration, insurance, parking, and gas.

Students choosing out of state rotations will be responsible for any additional housing and/or travel costs that may be required.

Other costs to consider at the completion of the program include any costs related to state licensure, credentialing, and national certification, i.e. PANCE. These are not included in tuition and fees. Currently, the PANCE cost is $475.

Medical Insurance

View Jefferson's policies for medical insurance on the Student Life website. Please note, in addition to Jefferson's standard policies for medical insurance:

Policies require that all PA students carry major medical health insurance during their education at Jefferson.  Students may indicate that they wish to maintain coverage through a parent, spouse or a private plan.  The student is required to show proof of coverage at the beginning of each school year, and if changes are made they must be reported immediately to the program.  An insurance plan is made available for purchase to all students through the University.

Malpractice Insurance

Malpractice insurance costs are covered by the institution for registered students.

Included in Tuition and Fees

  • Professional membership fees for student membership in AAPA and PSPA
  • Access to testing software (ExamSoft), clinical year tracking software (E*Value), and Blackboard Learn
  • Library access and fees
  • PACKRAT - administered twice during the program
  • PAEA End of Rotation examinations* - administered at the end of core clinical rotations.

*Any student requiring remediation and retesting will be responsible for any additional exam fees.
