Nursing Preparation at Jefferson
At Jefferson, you will be treated as a professional from day one. In our stimulating and supportive environment, you will build a strong foundation in sciences and psychology, preparing you for success in upper-division courses for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Thomas Jefferson University. You will have the opportunity to take courses with other pre-medical, health science and future nursing students, and experience undergraduate life on the Jefferson East Falls campus.
The courses you’ll complete in this program fulfill all necessary prerequisites for preferred placement in Jefferson’s College of Nursing BSN program.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Jefferson College of Nursing
Jefferson’s College of Nursing has been at the forefront of educating respected nurse clinical leaders since 1891. Jefferson nurses are known for their practice-readiness and interprofessional skills.
The College is nationally recognized for the use of simulation in the curriculum, a critical step to real-world readiness. Using the latest technologies, you will be prepared to work in an array of environments with all members of healthcare team—from pharmacists and physicians, to therapists and technologists. You will put this simulated experience into practice in various clinical immersions, from acute care in emergency rooms, to outpatient and community healthcare settings as an undergraduate.
Upon completing a BSN program at Jefferson College of Nursing, you will be prepared to excel on the national licensure examination, and will have access to registered nursing positions in all healthcare environments, including Magnet-designated hospitals. Extensive simulation and immersion experiences will prepare you to be a clinical leader in your profession from day one. Graduates are also prepared to continue in graduate or doctoral level nursing programs to pursue advanced nursing careers.
