Knit Developer at Suzanne Oude Hengel

Drew McKevitt is a knitwear and textile designer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, currently based in Petawawa, Ontario. She received a bachelor's degree in English Literature and Creative Writing from Concordia University and spent many years working as the managing editor of a poetry magazine in Montreal. She recently received a master's degree in Textile Design from Philadelphia University.

She currently works as part of Suzanne Oude Hengel’s team, where she assists with knit development and research. As a designer, she is drawn to unusual textures, intricate structures, and organic shapes.

Panelist 2: Suzanne Oude Hengel (she/her)

Founder and Knit Developer and Footwear Innovator at Suzanne Oude Hengel

Suzanne Oude Hengel is a knitted textile researcher, programmer and footwear innovator from the Netherlands. Her focus is on researching and developing functionalities in footwear through knitted techniques.

Oude Hengel graduated from ArteZ University in Arnhem, The Netherlands in 2015 with a degree in Product Design. She now works on a variety of machines including the latest flatbed and circular knitting machines from both Stoll and Santoni. She creates her own research projects but also does consultancy work / collaborative projects for brands such as Timberland, Nubikk and Rothy’s.
