Faculty Life Cycle

The following programs help to familiarize you with the resources available and the opportunities you have as a faculty member.

New Faculty Orientation

A formal orientation program is offered to new faculty. This orientation provides you an opportunity to learn more about our institution, available resources and how to navigate our campuses. In addition, we will review important faculty policies and procedures. Attendance at this program is mandatory for new faculty, but we know you’ll agree it’s worthwhile. Come meet members of the Faculty Affairs team and others from the Provost’s Office. For more information, contact Faculty Affairs at 215-955-5272.

New Employee Orientation

Our Human Resources Department offers a more extensive orientation for all new employees to learn more about our University and about Jefferson Health System—which plays an integral role for our University’s medical, health professions and science programs.  This orientation provides an opportunity for you to more fully understand the roles and responsibilities of the employees you may supervise and offers a chance for you to meet senior leaders and other employees of Jefferson.

You will also learn about our mission, vision and values, our history and organizational structure, enterprise policies, and the benefits and many resources available to you.

As a new employee you will receive a letter scheduling you for this orientation.

Benefits

In addition to the benefits overview you will receive in New Employee Orientation, you will be contacted to schedule a separate meeting to review your faculty benefits package if you are full-time. For questions related to Faculty Benefits, contact the Human Resources Service Center at 3-HRSC or 215-503-4772.
