Graduate Admissions Partnership/Articulation Agreements

At Jefferson we value the educational experiences for students from all accredited colleges and universities. We have partnered with many institutions to provide students ease in access graduate education opportunities at Jefferson.

Guaranteed Admission Interview Program Partnerships

The Interview Program provides students from the partner school with a clear path to earn an admissions interview with several of Jefferson’s highly sought after degree programs.

Doctor of Physical Therapy

Participating Partners: 

  • Elizabethtown College
  • Villanova University
  • Saint Joseph’s University
  • Thomas Jefferson University

Eligibility Criteria

The Interview Program provides students from the partner school with a clear path to earn an admissions interview with the Jefferson program. The following criteria are required to be met to earn a guaranteed admission interview:

  • Be a full-time student since matriculation at the partner school
  • Be a rising senior/senior year student who will have earned a bachelor’s degree from the partner school prior to enrollment in the program at Jefferson
  • Be a first time applicant to apply to the Interview Program
  • Meet the program’s minimum admissions criteria, for the application year the student is applying:
    • Degree Requirement: Any bachelor’s degree
    • GPA Requirement: A minimum 3.0 overall and 3.0 science GPA are required
    • Prerequisite Coursework Requirement: 41 semester credits with a grade of a “C” or better in the following course areas:

Eligibility Criteria

The Interview Program provides students from the partner school with a clear path to earn an admissions interview with the Jefferson program. The following criteria are required to be met to earn a guaranteed admission interview:

  • Be a full-time student since matriculation at the partner school
  • Be a rising senior/senior year student who will have earned a bachelor’s degree from the partner school prior to enrollment in the program at Jefferson
  • Be a first time applicant to the program
  • Meet the program’s minimum admissions criteria, for the application year the student is applying:
    • Degree Requirement: Any bachelor’s degree program
    • GPA Requirement: Minimum 3.0 overall GPA and 3.0 prerequisite coursework GPA
    • Prerequisite Coursework Requirement: 30 semester credits from the following specific course areas with a grade of a “B-“ or better:

***Any sociology course will meet this prerequisite or cultural anthropology. If a student’s institution does not offer cultural anthropology, a course that covers multiple cultures and/or ethnicities from a broad perspective based in anthropology or the social sciences will be accepted.

****Any English course or officially designated writing intensive course will meet the prerequisite.

  •  Shadowing/Professional Hours Requirement: Observe licensed OT’s or OTA’s for a total of 30 hours in at least two different settings
  • Resume/Experiences:  Submit documentation of all experiences gained through volunteerism, civic engagement, club/intramural participation, employment, advanced academic experiences (including research), etc
  • Apply via the Occupational Therapy Centralized Application System (OTCAS) by October 15th
  • Seats are still available in the program at time of application submission

Medical Laboratory Sciences & Biotechnology:

Open to all three Master’s program in the 1 year or 2 year format. The three programs are: Biotechnology; Cytotechnology & Cell Sciences; Medical Laboratory Sciences

Eligibility Criteria

The Interview Program provides students from the partner school with a clear path to earn an admissions interview with the Jefferson program. The following criteria are required to be met to earn a guaranteed admission interview:

  • Be a full-time student since matriculation at the partner school
  • Be a rising senior/senior year student who will have earned a bachelor’s degree from the partner school prior to enrollment at Jefferson
  • Be a first time applicant to apply to the Interview Program 
  • Apply via the Thomas Jefferson University TJAPP by January 15th, candidates can refer to the applying website for more details at https://www.jefferson.edu/university/health-professions/departments/medical-laboratory-biotechnology/degrees-programs/bs-ms-programs/applying.html
  • Seats are still available in the program at time of application submission
  • Meet the program’s minimum admissions criteria, for the application year the student is applying:
    • Overall GPA requirement: 3.00 or higher (strongly recommended)
    • Overall Science GPA requirement: 3.0 or higher
    • Required Prerequisite Coursework (semester units): 4 of the science courses listed below must be completed upon application along with ½ of the remaining coursework.

*The following Physical/Life and Other Sciences must be completed within 6 years of enrollment to Jefferson: Microbiology, Molecular Bio, Cell Bio, and Genetics. Additional courses may be considered to satisfy these requirements. Please contact your admissions counselor with any questions.

As long as the above eligibility criteria are satisfied, there is no limit to the number of students at the partner school who can participate in the Interview Program.

Guaranteed Admission Agreements

The Guaranteed Admission Program allows students to have reserved admission into one of Jefferson’s graduate degree programs. Many of the programs also include reduced admissions requirements. 

Ms in Biopharmaceutical Process Engineering

Eligibility Criteria

The Admissions Program provides students from the partner school with a clear path to earn admission into the Jefferson program. The following criteria are required to be met to earn guaranteed admission:

  • Be a rising senior/senior year student who will have earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomanufacturing from the partner school prior to enrollment at Jefferson
  • Be a first time applicant
  • Meet the following admissions criteria:
    • Degree Requirement: Bachelor of Science in Biomanufacturing
    • GPA Requirement: A minimum 3.0 overall GPA
    • 1 positive letter of recommendation from representative at partner school
    • Apply via Jefferson’s online application

As long as the above eligibility criteria are satisfied, there is no limit to the number of students at the partner school who can participate in the Admissions Program.

Accelerated/Dual Admission Partnerships (for High School and Undergraduate Transfer applicants)

These partnership programs first year applicants to apply to both Jefferson and our partner institutions as high school seniors and be guaranteed admission into Jefferson’s graduate/professional degree program upon successful completion of prerequisite requirements at the partner institution. In many cases, these partnerships allow students to accelerate their education.
