Where are you from originally?
Red Lion, PA.
What was the best part of your time at Jefferson?
The people. Hands down. I’ve met some of the smartest, nicest and most inspiring people while on this campus. I’ve built connections and friendships that will last a lifetime.
What has having a Jefferson degree done for you and how has it prepared you for your career?
I really lucked out here, in that I began working at Jefferson almost immediately after graduation, so naturally my background as a student at TJU was beneficial. But more broadly, I think my time here helped me to become a much more engaged, and curious thinker. I deepened my love for learning and spent much of my time as “the guy” in the studio when my classmates had questions. That environment certainly drove me towards teaching as a career path.
What are you doing now?
I am the Resource Coordinator for the College of Architecture and the Built Environment. In short, I oversee and manage all the college’s makerspaces. On top of that, I also am an adjunct professor, teaching courses focused on Architectural Fabrication, and Model Making.
What’s something people would be surprised to find out about you?
Apart from my work in academia, I am also a jewelry maker, songwriter, and amateur voice actor.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to our current students?
Having fun is one thing, but when you can find fun in the things you do, I find that’s when I’m at my best.
